Summary of Changes with the New Makeup Lesson System

Subscription Model: Pay for the total number of lessons each month upfront on the first of the month.
Makeup Credits: Issued for cancellations with proper notice, valid for 30 days.
Makeup Slots: Available on designated days, providing flexibility to makeup cancelled lessons using makeup credits. You can schedule makeup lessons many weeks in advance. Once a makeup lesson is scheduled, the credit is redeemed.
Billing Adjustments: The total amount due monthly can fluctuate based on teacher cancellations, holidays, and studio cancellations. You are not charged for these.
Lesson Charges: You are charged for scheduled lessons regardless of whether you make them up or not.

Musician Makers provides in-home and online music lessons facilitated by professionally trained instructors. Our administrative team is dedicated to ensuring a seamless lesson experience and top-notch customer service.

Email Policy
Email is our primary method for communication and billing. By signing up for lessons, you agree to receive and open emails from Musician Makers to stay updated on lesson schedules and important announcements.

Invoicing

Invoices are issued at the start of each month as a prepayment for scheduled lessons. Payments are made through the student portal, where you can save your payment method to streamline monthly payments or enable auto-pay to ensure timely payments and avoid late fees. Please note that the total amount due each month may vary due to holidays, teacher cancellations, and months with five weeks. You are charged based on the number of lessons scheduled for that month, not a flat monthly rate.

Teachers & Lessons in the Home
All teachers undergo a rigorous background check and training. An adult over 18 must be present during in-home lessons. If the teacher arrives and no adult is present, the lesson will not be given, and you will be charged in full. Our teachers will wait up to 10 minutes for an adult to arrive or for the student to arrive if you are tardy. After 10 minutes they will leave, and you will be charged in full.

Lesson length

Lessons are 30 minutes or 60 minutes. You can stack multiple 30 minute or 60 minute lessons in the same home. We do not offer 45 minute lessons.

Cancellation and Makeup Lesson Policy

Cancellation Policy

Lessons cancelled with correct notice will receive a makeup credit for a makeup lesson. A minimum of 2 hours notice is required to receive a makeup credit. If you do not provide 2 + hours notice for cancelling your lesson, you will not receive a makeup credit unless it is an emergency *See Below *

If you cancel a lesson due to sickness with less than 2 hours notice, you will receive a makeup credit.
Teacher Cancellations: If a teacher cancels a lesson, your account will be credited with a discount equal to the monetary value of that lesson. This effectively serves as a refund and will carry forward as a positive balance, reducing your next bill.
Studio Cancellations: Studio closures follow the St. Johns County school schedule. When the school is closed due to holidays or other reasons, we are also closed. You will not be charged for these canceled lessons, and your account will be credited with a discount equal to the value of the lesson. If you cancel a makeup lesson, you do not receive a makeup credit back. If you cancel it due to an emergency, you will receive a refund.

Makeup Lesson Policy

Issuance of Makeup Credits: Makeup credits are issued when a lesson is canceled with 2+hours notice of the lesson or in case of emergency on the day of the lesson. This can be done through the student portal or if you inform our admin team via email or text, who will then mark it off.
Use of Makeup Credits: Credits can be used on designated makeup days within 60 days from the date of issuance. The 60-day validity period starts from the moment the lesson is canceled. You can view your total number of makeup credits by logging into your account and visiting the attendance and notes section to track how many days remain for each credit.
Make up slots are added to the calendar weeks ahead in the future, and we update that weekly so it is always 30 days ahead. This way, there are always plenty of make up slots for you to use your credits before they expire. During summer months, we will extend the make up days even further out.
Makeup lessons must be scheduled at least 72 hours in advance.
Expiration of Credits: Unused credits expire 30 days after issuance and will not be refunded or applied to future lessons.
Teacher Makeup Cancellation: If a teacher cancels a scheduled makeup lesson, your account will be credited with the monetary value of that lesson or lessons, ensuring you are refunded rather than issued a new makeup credit.
Please note that makeup lessons may be subject to cancellation or time changes due to drive times and logistical considerations. In the event that we need to cancel a makeup lesson for these reasons, you will receive a refund for the lesson, as we will add a monetary discount to your account equal to the value of the lesson.

Payment Methods
Auto-pay is recommended to streamline the payment process. Manual credit card payments can be made through the student portal.

Late Fees
Invoices are due upon receipt. Payments delayed by more than 14 days will incur a $15 late fee

Subscription Cancellation Policy

If you decide to cancel your subscription with Musician Makers, you have two options:

Cancel Immediately:

You will receive a refund for any prepaid positive balance, which includes future regular lessons or credits from previous studio or teacher cancellations.
Any scheduled makeup lessons will be removed from the schedule, and you will not receive a credit or redeem the value for those makeups.
All makeup credits will be forfeited.

Finish the next 30 days:

You can continue your lessons and use any saved-up makeup credits within the next 30 days from the date you requested to end your subscription.
You can take any scheduled makeup lessons during this 30 day period, thereby redeeming their value.
At the end of the 30 day period, all remaining makeup credits will be forfeited, and any future makeup lessons will be canceled.
If you still have a positive balance from teacher cancellations at the end of the month, you will be refunded that amount.
Important Note: To prevent misuse, if you schedule makeup lessons beyond the 30 day period after deciding to cancel, we will manually remove those lessons from the schedule and notify you via email that this is not allowed under the cancellation policy.

Refunds

Refunds are available upon request. If you cancel your subscription and have a remaining balance, you have two options:

1. Retain Balance: Keep the balance on your account for future lessons.

2. Request a Refund: Submit a refund request within 90 days of your subscription ending.

Please note that refund requests made after 90 days from the end of your subscription cannot be processed.

Release of Liability

I hereby release, discharge, and agree not to sue Musician Makers LLC, its directors, or its employees for any injury, death, or damage to or loss of personal property arising out of or in connection with my child's participation in any lessons or events from whatever cause, including the active or passive negligence of Musician Makers LLC owners, staff or any other participants of Musician Makers LLC.

In consideration for being permitted to participate in private lessons, I hereby agree, for my child, my heirs, administrators, executors, and assigns, that I shall indemnify and hold harmless Musician Makers LLC from any and all claims, demands, actions, or suits arising out of our connection with my child's participation in any of Musician Makers LLC events.

I agree to not leave any child under the age of 18 years alone in my home with an instructor or representative of Musician Makers LLC.

I agree to permit Musician Makers LLC to share and repost photographs taken by parents during lessons or staff during performance events without further recourse.

I understand that by voluntarily filling out the Musician Makers LLC sign-up form, I release any personal information contained in the said form and permit Musician Makers LLC to store it in a secure online database for the purposes of billing, scheduling, and organization.

I affirm that I have read, understand and agree to be bound by the term and conditions of this contract for music instruction through Musician Makers LLC. I fully understand that failure to abide by this contract will result in termination of this agreement and lessons will be discontinued immediately. I understand that I can also review these policies any time online at www.musicianmakerslessons.com.

I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS RELEASE, HOLD HARMLESS, AGREEMENT NOT TO SUE, AND MEDIA RELEASE, AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENTS. I AM AWARE THAT IT IS A FULL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY AND I SIGN IT FREELY.
